The first round in the 'House Tug of War' was held at lunchtime today.
I think all that needs to be said is ... "GO RATA!" The year 6's continue to make steady progress on their paintings. They look amazing, and they're not even completed yet. Can't wait to see the finished results.
As part of our Energy topic, the class were given the challenge of building a 'lego-mobile' to test potential and kinetic energy. It turned into a competition to see who's creation could cope with the ramp and travel the furtherest. There were all sorts of weird and wonderful vehicles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some lost bits as they took off down the ramp, some kept falling off the ramp, while a couple just seemed to want to turn corners!
The winning model was built by Neal. Huge congratulations to Rowan and Lily who competed in the Rotary Speech competition on Thursday. There were a total of 11 speeches, with competitors from all 3 of the local schools plus Granity and Reefton.
Rowan won the competition and Lily was runner-up. Congratulaions - a great effort from both of you. The focus for this week was 'Compassion', and these 2 girls constantly demonstrate this value. Congratulations Hazel and Emily - you are both so deserving of these awards.
It was great to see Taine and Catey taking their roles seriously and working to develop skills with their buddies.
