This morning we held a 'Shakeout" practice. After holding our 'turtle position' for a minute, we then walked to Queen Street and back.

Welcome back to Term 4.
We have a really busy term ahead of us ... triathlon, athletics, social dancing, and Keeping Ourselves Safe ... just for starters!! Triathlon training is already underway , as seen in the pictures below ... Happy holidays everyone.
Enjoy your time off and make the most of it, because we have an exceptionally busy Term 4 ahead of us. Stay safe and practise your skipping! Big congratulations to Kieran and Grace for receiving Principal's Awards in assembly this morning. A great way to finish off the term! Finally a fine afternoon, so out we went with the skipping ropes.
While there were a few children who were pretty competent with a rope, there were a large number who were not, and some children even admitted to never having even skipped with a rope before! It was great to see how many children persevered - whether it be running in and skipping with a long rope, or skipping backwards, with a rebound or cross-armed with a single rope. Skipping is a great way to increase aerobic fitness, and with the tri-athlon looming next term, it might be beneficial for the children to start increasing their fitness over the holidays. This week we started a new artwork and completed it today. Each child was given an A4 piece of paper that had part of a picture on it. Using pastels, they coloured, shaded and blended. We then crossed olur fingers and hoped that it worked out, as Mrs Rout put it altogether. What do you think? It looks AMAZING!!!!!
And before I left school this afternoon, I put it up on the wall. All I can say is 'WOW!!!!"
Miss Ward and I were blown away by the number of children who were able to solve all 3 problems in the time given, and here they are ...
First quiz - 'Countries, Capitals and Landmarks.' And the winners were Jack and Seth. Quiz number 2 - 'Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and Spelling.'
This was a really close competition, but the winners were ... Holly and Sienna. Big congratulations to Samara and Ben for receiving their awards this morning.
A great effort from you both. |
