Finally a fine afternoon, so out we went with the skipping ropes.
While there were a few children who were pretty competent with a rope, there were a large number who were not, and some children even admitted to never having even skipped with a rope before!
It was great to see how many children persevered - whether it be running in and skipping with a long rope, or skipping backwards, with a rebound or cross-armed with a single rope.
Skipping is a great way to increase aerobic fitness, and with the tri-athlon looming next term, it might be beneficial for the children to start increasing their fitness over the holidays.
