Have a look at the year 7's in action.
It was great to come up to the High School today and see all the year 7's at metalwork and sewing. The pincushions looked great and I can't wait to see the Jitterbugs when they're finished. Have a look at the year 7's in action.

Writing today was all about using our senses to produce a piece of descriptive writing.
Each person had 'Object X' put on the desk in front of them. Guess the pictures speak for themselves!!! Well done, Room 1 and 2! What a great race you all had. A top effort from everyone!!!
Have a look at the pics below and see if you can spot yourself. This afternoon Mr A and I went and set up the course and put out the cones all ready for the big race tomorrow. A huge thankyou to Mr Knudson who had already designed and set up some 'interesting' and 'challenging' parts of the course for us.
Remember - Don't wear your best running shoes! The grass is long and wet and there are a few other obstacles to cope with too. (Have a look at the pics below). Good luck to everyone tomorrow. It's a great x-country course and should be lots of fun! As promised last term, here are some of the completed 'Perspective' art works on display in Rooms 1/2.
They are all different, but every single one looks amazing. Westport South School was lucky enough to have Jerome come and show us his selection of Early Maori instruments. It was a fascinating presentation and we were all amazed at the sounds he managed to ceate from his assortment of instruments, including shells and stones.
He came back again today and spent the afternoon working with the kapa Haka boys. There were some very excited boys after school (minus their voices) and we can't wait to see their new haka. These boys made the most of their free time by working together as a team and constructing this amazing house out of a variety of materials. Well done boys!
Just a reminder that the focus for this week is ..."Give your best effort."
