This week we welcomed India and Micah to our class. Both are ex-pupils, and it's lovely to have them both back at Westport South School.
Today, certificates were presented for our own senior school cross country event. They were awarded to the first 3 placegetters in each age group. Kieran was first in the Year 5 boys. Year 5 girls - Ciara 1st, Izabelle 2nd and Katie 3rd. Year 6 boys - Jack 1st, Scott 3rd Year 6 girls - Samara 1st, Millie 2nd, Lenka 3rd
Does anyone have one of these, or something similar, lying around home? We need another ships wheel for our production. This one is actually plastic and came off a piece of children's playground equipment. If you can help, please let Mrs Rout know.
Today the children created some stunning art work from an idea we had seen online.
The results were amazing - such a simple idea with such incredible results. More photos of the finished works will be posted tomorrow night. The children love working on the chromebooks and take pride in the presentation of their published work.
We are continually being upskilled in new and exciting uses for digital technology, and the children are enjoying getting to grips with these skills and becoming proficient in their use. While all the children should be proud of their efforts, special congratulations need to go to 4 children from our room.
Ciara and Kieran both came 3rd in their Year 5 races, while Jack and Samara were both winners for the Year 6 races. Congratulations!! Congratulations to all those who took part in the Holiday Reading Challenge. These 6 students from Room 1 and 2 received their certificates in assembly this morning. Well done to you all! As a bonus, Holly was also the lucky winner and received a book for her efforts. Congratulations, Holly.
