Great to see how popular the elastics are proving to be - especially before school on these chilly mornings.
This amazing creation won the "Fantastic Hat" award at the Wearable Art competition recently run by the public library.
Shanaya's winning hat was made up with a wild and wacky assortment of items from peacock feathers, broken CD's and playing cards. Congratulations Shayana - your hat was truly a wonderful work of art! Straight after the Rippa game finished, the Buller Under 52's had their game. There were 4 Westport South students in the team, and 2 of them were from Rm 1/2 - Devlin and Rowan. While the weather stayed fine for the Rippa game, the Under 52's weren't so lucky. It was pouring down!!!
Mrs Rout braved the weather until halftime when the score was 22-5, but she did get to see Devlin score a try! The final score was 33-19 to Buller. A great effort from the whole team. We can now claim that the WSS year 5 and 6 Rippa Rugby Team ( really the Rm 1/2 team) are the 2nd best team on the West Coast! Unfortunately they lost the final 6-4, but it was an exciting game played in very cold conditions. Actually, standing on the sideline with all the snow on the hills reminded Mrs Rout of being back in her hometown - Dunedin!
Have a look at the pics below to see some of the action ... Just a reminder that tomorrow is the big final for the West Coast Rippa Champs. Our very own South School team - made up mostly of players from Rm 1/2, is playing against the top team from Greymouth.
We plan on taking everyone from Rm 1/2 up to Craddock Park to watch the game, weather permitting! The game starts at 12pm, midday. "Yes siree!" as Goosey would say.
You've all done the 2 rehearsal/performances and now it's only one more sleep until the first of your 2 public performances. Everyone did such a good job today and I know tomorrow night will be even more amazing. Can't wait to see you all on stage tomorrow night!! |
