WOW! WOW! WOW! Just a sample of some of the outrageous and crazy hair styles ... And the winners for the 'CRAZIEST HAIR' as voted for by the class, were ...
Although the boiler is back up and running (and our class was lovely and warm today) the forecast is for a very cold winter.
Thankyou to Zelda for finding these long sleeved polo shirts - in RED! They are available from the Warehouse and can be ordered online. With regard to thermals being worn underneath the school polo shirts - Mrs Sara and I are happy for the children to wear either red or navy. It is important for the children to still respect the rules and take pride in wearing their school uniform. These people from our room represented Westport South School at the Buller Cross Country held in Reefton on Tuesday.
The boiler isn't expected to be fixed until Thursday, so please ensure the children have sufficient warm clothing. A number of children are still turning up with no sweatshirt or fleece and believe me, the classroom is COLD! Yesterday the inside temperature never got above 11 degrees, and today is forecast to be even colder.
I have just got to school and it really is cold. Snow on the hills and this was temp reading in the classroom when I arrived ... ... and I should add it has already dropped since I got here.
PLEASE WRAP UP WARMLY. The classroom is freezing!!! Todays problem solving challenge proved to be a LOT trickier than the teachers had anticipated!!!! However, it was great to see the positive mindset shown by a number of students as they persevered. Congratulations to Aliana for being the first person to solve the problem. However, two young ladies went on to solve the first AND second problems.
Congratulations to Breanna and Lenka on being the 'PROBLEM SOLVING CHAMPIONS". This morning a special award was presented in assembly. This was a 'Good Behaviour' award for Leighton, from Ms Finnerty. Well done, Leighton.
