I tried to get a shot of each person as they finished each lap, but my apologies if I have missed you.

A bit of a sad finish to our day today. We had to farewell Bailey as he is moving to Reefton. We are sad to see him go but wish him all the very best for his new adventure.
This morning in assembly, the new members of the Student Council received their official badges. A very proud moment for these 4 students from Room 1 and 2.
lToday Room 1 and 2 students were very lucky to meet Ruth Paul - a brilliant children's author and illustrator. Not only did she share her ideas, but she also read to us and chose children to help act out her latest story. She showed us the progression her illustrations take, from the initial thumbnail sketches, to the finished product. It really was a most enjoyable session, and the general consensus from the children, was that they felt INSPIRED to tackle their writing now. These pics are actually her original thumbnails for her book 'The King's Bubbles.' Check out these 3 sketches, from her initial concept to the end result ... A selection of Ruth Paul's books ...

The highlight for the teachers was watching how well all the children worked together. Growth mindsets were definitely on display today! The hats were then modeled before the judges ... ... and 7 finalists were chosen ... In 3rd place ... Izabelle and Alantis with their mortar-styled hat. In 2nd place, with an Easter bonnet, were Aliana and Wendy. And in 1st place, with their version of a female styled 'Bob Marley' hat, were Isla and Rebecca. The top 3 hats ...
These children were awarded with special certificates this morning in recognition of their participation in the Anzac Day parade.
Just a reminder that school will finish at 2pm on Wednesday 2nd May to allow for 3 Way Conferences to be held. These will also continue on Thursday afternoon, but school will finish at the usual time of 2.45pm. These conferences are an opportunity for your child to discuss and share their goals with you. Should you wish to discuss any other school related matters. please feel free to make an alternative time to meet with the teachers.
