Today's challenge was to build an emergency stretcher. The story was that one of their tramping group had suffered a severe injury and had to be carried out on a stretcher. As they were making their way out through the bush, a branch hit the back stretcher bearer in the eye, causing temporary blindness - hence the blindfold. All they had to make the stretcher was newspaper, string and sellotape.
Once they had constructed their stretcher, the 'patient' was then put on the stretcher and then carried through/over an obstacle course to safety.
The 'patient' was a 5kg bag of potatoes.

It was judged on which team completed the course in the fastest time, so we had to have a race off (based on their times in the first round) for 3rd and 4th and then 1st and 2nd.
Unfortunately, one team's stretcher collapsed and their patient fell to the ground as they were crossing the first hurdle. In the race for 1st and 2nd, their times were the same, but again one teams' stretcher fell apart as they crossed the finish line.

Lots of laughs, some pretty creative looking stretchers and most of all, some amazing teamwork and growth mindsets shown.
Congratulations to everyone!
