Todays challenge was to build the longest and strongest bridge using only 12 full sheets of newspaper, 3 metres of string, 2 metres of sellotape and 2 A4 pieces of card.
The crucial part was being able to balance a 500g weight on it, and not have the bridge collapse!
Some pretty impressive structures were created , but unfortunately only 6 bridges were able to support the weight.

The longest bridge, with a span of 78cm was created by Sienna, Mikah and Alantis. However, at the last minute they had made a support to keep the middle section of their bridge lifted. Not sure how well this would have worked in the deep ravine that was part of the scenerio!
So ... after the judges had conferred, first place was awarded to an amazing structure, with a span of 65cm, that was created by Ross, Sam and Vera. This bridge was like a suspension bridge that actually had like a pulley system to weight it, at each end. And ... it could support the 500g weight without collapsing!
